Privacy Policy
noted.app ("noted", "we", "us") is a personal library app for iOS and Android: you save things you want to keep — shared links, screen recordings, voice notes, photos, and text — and noted automatically transcribes, organizes, and files them into folders for you. This policy explains what data that requires and how it's handled.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address, used to sign in and identify your account.
- Content you save: links, video/audio recordings, photos, and text you choose to add to your library, plus the transcripts, AI-generated summaries, and folder assignments generated from that content.
- Basic usage data: how much you've saved this month (used only to apply the free plan's monthly transcription limit — see below).
- Feedback: anything you submit through the in-app Feedback form.
We do not collect advertising identifiers, and we do not sell or share your data with data brokers or advertisers.
How your content is processed
Saving something to your library requires sending it to a small number of service providers, strictly to provide the app's own features:
- Supabase — hosts your account, your library's data, and the files you save (videos, audio, images), encrypted in transit and at rest.
- OpenAI — transcribes audio/video (Whisper), and generates the summaries, structured notes, and AI chat answers you see in the app (GPT-4o-mini and text embeddings). Content sent for these purposes is used only to generate your results, not to train OpenAI's models under their API data usage terms.
Your library is private to your account. Row-level security scopes every query to your own signed-in user — nobody else, including us, can browse your saved content through the app.
Subscriptions and payment
noted offers an optional paid subscription (noted Pro) for unlimited transcription and AI chat. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play, using RevenueCat to manage subscription status. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple and Google process those directly under their own privacy policies.
Your choices
- You can delete any saved item from within the app.
- You can permanently delete your account and everything in it from Settings → Delete Account. This immediately and irreversibly removes your account, entries, recordings, transcripts, and folders.
- You can contact us at any time using the details below with questions about your data.
Children's privacy
noted is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
